Care Logistics® and Catholic Health East Collaborate to Transform Hospital Operations

Benefits will include shorter lengths of stay, improved quality, and lower cost of care

Atlanta, GA  April 12, 2012 - Care Logistics® today announced its collaboration with Catholic Health East to implement the Care Logistics®, Hospital Operating SystemTM Solution, which will transform the health system's operations and care delivery through greater efficiency. This comprehensive approach combines an organizational commitment to efficiency, systemwide process reengineering and enterprise logistics software to help hospitals achieve reliable and predictive operational performance in the areas of throughput, quality and patient experience.

"This partnership supports our long-standing commitment to serving our community with the highest quality care, while managing the costs and the operational efforts required to deliver that care," said Pete DeAngelis, executive vice president and chief operating officer of Catholic Health East. "Care Logistics® offers a unique approach to total hospital efficiency, which meets the needs of our patients and helps us prepare for the challenges of an operating environment with decreased reimbursements from federal, state, and private payors."

Hospitals who utilize the Care Logistics® Care Coordination Model are better able to integrate all the clinical and non-clinical patient movements and order executions occurring in a hospital environment to achieve optimal patient flow and length of stay while enhancing overall patient satisfaction and quality.

"We are very proud to be partnering with Catholic Health East," noted Karl Straub, president of Care Logistics®. "By focusing on the logistics of patient care, we have proven it is possible for hospitals to achieve dramatic success in lowering the cost of care, while simultaneously improving quality."

Among the results hospitals have achieved by working with Care Logistics® are: a 49 percent decrease in hospital-acquired infection rates, a 25 percent decrease in patient average length of stay, and increases in net operating margins.

"Our agreement with Catholic Health East is further validation that our approach is unique in its ability to help our customers achieve sustainable, dramatic results, through reliable and predictive operational performance," concluded Straub.
